Toyota claims a 5.7-second 0-60 for the new RAV4 Prime, which is heckin’ quick.
Heck, that’s only 0. 3 seconds slower than Chevy’s claim for my Camaro 2.0 Turbo.
What if Toyota’s next-gen GR 86 was a hybrid? That could be pretty cool if it was a “sporty” hybrid tech application. What would y’all think?

I mean, a Tesla Model 3 weighs 4,100 lbs and that hasn’t stopped them from doing great at autocross. If a hybrid 86 was “fast” I’d be inclined to accept something heftier than the current 2,800-lb 86’s curb weight.

Im kind of worried about packaging... The Prime is fast cus its an AWD PHEV... As in, the battery is sizeable , and one of the driven axles gets to have an electric motor. For the GT86 to remain RWD you’d need a large battery like the one in the Prime and a large motor somewhere along the drivetrain.
I think the Prime has the battery and the electric motor in the back, so no driveshafts interrupt the battery placement... Which would also be a thing to keep in mind with the GT86

Also. It makes outer space noises in reverse. It gives it an x-factor intimidation score when lining up to timing and scoring

You gotta live with that front end tho.
So frowny and serious and mean, but then has derpy faux floating C-pillar on the side.
This is the one with the 10K ADM, I think. For 50K, it oughta be fast.
